SnoCo FC gets a sneak peek at Snohomish Sports Dome

SNOHOMISH, WA— Just one day after the announcement that Snohomish County Football Club would be entering the Steelheads and the Silvers into the Western Indoor Soccer League the club’s General Manager got a sneak peek at the place where the teams will play. David Falk visited the Snohomish Sports Dome and met with one of the new operators of the facility, M’ily Morton.

“We are really excited about our partnership with the Dome,” Falk says, “and we wanted to get in there to see what is happening to the place. We are happy to report that there are upgrades happening throughout the facility, from fresh paint to new floors to new amenities for players and fans.”

SnoCo FC dropped off a team logo orange flag, a vinyl banner, team scarves, buttons and stickers during the visit.

sports_dome_logoMorton, along with Jamie Bialek, took over the former Snohomish Soccer Dome in July and immediately began remodel work. The building has operated as an indoor soccer arena for over 15 years. Recently it closed, but the group jumped in to keep it going. The Dome is part of a long history of indoor soccer in the county.

“It was great to meet M’ily and thank her in person for all of their efforts to revive this important piece of soccer in Snohomish,” says Falk. “This is a story of a community coming together to save a treasured sports meeting place.”

The Dome will host a series of soccer tennis tournaments in August. SnoCo FC will be entering a few teams into the competition. So will youth partners Gala FC.
